~~..Greetings,minna!!genki??..hahaha!!..this is a novel/story that i wrote/typed last 2 month but i forgot about it.As a result,it's still in Chapter 1!!..haiz,but it's ok.i hope all of u will enjoy this lil work of mine.by the way,please mind the tenses.quite many wrong tenses(present and past).
~~..i want to tell all of you that all of the places name is true.if you don't believe me,just google it!!and the name of the characters are also most of it true.especially the name of all the Olympian Lords.Most of the names are based on Norse/Greek/Roman mythologies.i just love Mythologies!!the usage of words and sentences are also very simple as i'm lazy to find difficult words from the dictionary.finally,i hope all of you will enjoy reading it and do leave me some comments on it,okay!!..

Ocean’s Melody

Chapter 1 – The Other World
~~The sun shines brighter than ever on that day.On the very day,the life of a boy changed..eternally.As he sat by the bench near the shore.He looked far away over the ocean.The boy never even thinks that his life will change with just a simple wish.A wish granted by the God Himself.A wish born out of his boredom of this world.He never did care about anything in this world,except the ocean.The boy,a young boy of 16 of the name Zane.
~~Originally from Malaysia,a country in Southeast Asia,he followed his father to New Zealand a few years prior.Residing in Auckland,the City of Sails,made him fond of the ocean.Everyday,after school,he would just sit there by the shore and smile.Something about the big blue sea made him smile.On that particular day,the boy heard someone calling him.The voice is very weak and it seems like it come from far away.He went aboard his father’s yatch,The Siren and propelled it.With no particular destination,he wanders.Unknowingly to him,a storm is headed towards the area.A warning was issued by the coast guard,but he failed to decipher the message.The storm hit the yatch and he was thrown overboard by the strong gust of wind and massive waves.He struggled to stay on the surface.Heaven’s knew he did,but a mere boy of 16 was not even a match to mother nature. Everything went black.
~~The breeze,the sounds of the waves hitting the shore and the warmth of the ocean.When his body feels all these,he just knew that he is still alive.He wonders how he survives.He does remember the feeling of being carried by something just a few seconds before he blacked out.He stand up and look around.A really huge island covered with trees and greenery.He thinks that he is on Rangitoto Island,a big island northeast of Auckland.But something unusual made him realise he may be somewhere else.As it seems the sky is no longer in sky blue and the ocean too,is no longer cobalt blue in colour.The sky is in reddish-pink.So is the clouds while the ocean is now blood red in colour.He tried to light up some flares he stashed in his life jacket,but it seems none of the flares will light up.He started to wander around the island.The island gives an eerie vibes all around and it is very uninviting.It seems the only way for him to survives is to enter the forest.Armed with a Beretta 92FS semi-automatic pistol owned by his father which is also stashed in the inside of his life jacket,Zane entered the forest.
~~Screaming voices similar to a banshee is heard everywhere in the forest.Other than that,nothing peculiar is seen.After a few miles walking,he saw something moving in the bush around him.Suddenly the movement stopped and Zane quickly investigate.It was a girl.A beautiful girl wearing just a stola,the traditional garment of Roman women.The girl look frightened with tears flowing from her baby-blue eyes.Her hair is as white as the snow.Zane can see how frightened she was as she was shivering and tears just won’t stop flowing.He keep his pistol in his pocket and sits next to her.He just sits there and didn’t say a thing.
~~After a while,she asked,”Who are you?From the way you dress,you are not from here,right?”.”Me?My name is Zane.Yeah,I am not from around here,I guess.Why?”,he answered.”No,it is just that this is the first time I ever saw someone outside of Atlantis.My name is Lora Derial.”she said while smiling.”Oh,what a nice name.Atlantis?You mean the lost city?”,he asked curiously.She answered,”Lost?No,Atlantis was never ‘lost’.It is just ‘hidden’ from the outside world.”.”Hidden?That makes sense,but what does a girl like you doing here,in the jungle?”he asked her.”I was looking for some vellars.A wondrous plant that can cure many disease.You see,i am actually the mage of my village.For centuries,the Derials have been the mage of my village. ”she answered happily.While they were talking,suddenly a group of men armed with spears came and captured Lora.It happened too sudden and made Zane let his guards down and he was surrounded by them.He is not able to fight back as Lora is being held captive.
~~Together with the armed men and Lora,Zane was brought to a village.It seems that the village was Lora’s village.He was shocked when Lora was slapped suddenly by an old man holding a staff.He was enraged but could do nothing as he was tied up.The man approach him and introduced himself as Dogma Derial,the village’s head mage and Lora’s father.Zane was told that it is a taboo for any of the villagers to speak with foreigners and it means death for anyone who did it.When Dogma asked him who and where is he from,he answered ,“My name’s Zane and I am from Auckland,New Zealand.”.Dogma and the villagers was confused with his answer as no one ever heard of that name.”Don’t you know?New Zealand?!”,he insists.”Are you telling me that you are from the ‘other world?’”.”I don’t know what you mean by ‘other world’ to me this is the ‘other world’but yes,for you i am from the ‘other world!’”.Suddenly all of them become silence.”D-D-Do you mean,you’re from Asgard?”,Dogma asked.”Asgard?What is that?”, Zane asked confusedly.”Asgard is the ‘other world’.The world where the skies and oceans is blue.The world where time never stops.The world where we came from.Until that day,when we were cursed.This is Midgard.A cursed world where time has betrayed.The island you are on is Atlantis.The world you are from is called Asgard to us,thus,you are an Asgard.You are the one the prophecy spoken of.You are the one we have been waiting for 9000 years.Forgive my rudeness,Sir Zane Asgard.”while bowing to Zane.After that,all of the villagers bow to him.He was still confused.
~~Suddenly one of the villagers asked angrily,”How do we know if he is the chosen Asgard?He is only a child!If he is the chosen Asgard,then he must be able to obtain all the Ocean’s Melody from all of the islands!”.Dogma answered,”Yes,that is the reason we wait for him,isn’t it?To obtain all of the Ocean’s Melody to break this curse.First,to prove himself as the chosen Asgard,he must obtain this island’s Ocean’s Melody,The Viosa. ”.”Huh?Now you want me to do what?”,Zane asked.”We would like you to obtain the first Ocean’s Melody,The Viosa.After you have proved yourself,I shall explain to you about everything.”,Dogma said.”What if I refused?”,Zane asked.Dogma replied,”Then I shall execute Lora as her punishment for speaking with you.”.”You are going to kill you own daughter?What makes you think I care if you killed her?”,replied Zane.”If you are the one I think you are,you won’t let anyone die because of you,right?”.”Heh,you got that right.Sure,I’ll do it.I’m sure this beats playing Devil May Cry 4 on my PS3 for the tenth time.”Zane said.”Great!The Ocean’s Melody is on the highest level of Mount Ragna.You shall move tomorrow morning.Please rest yourself now.”Dogma said.”Man,what a day,”sighed Zane.
~~Later that night,Lora came to meet Zane.She said ,“I am sorry for causing all these troubles.I really am sorry,please forgive me.”.”Nah,don’t worry.But I should thank you.”Zane said.”Thank me?Why?”she asked.”Well,if I did not meet you today,then my wish will never come true.”he said.”Wish?What did you wish for?”she asked again.”I was bored with my life.So,I wished for some thrills and adventures.Looks like my wish has been granted.I’ve never felt this excited before.Do you have a wish?”he said.”A wish?Yeah,umm..I-I-I wish you will return safely tomorrow.”she said while blushing.”Hmm,why would you waste a wish on a stranger you barely knew? Thanks,though.”he said.”Because it’s normal,right?To wish for someone’s safety whenever they’re away?T-T-That’s why..I wished for your safety.”she said.”Yes,that is true and don’t worry.I promise you that I will return safely.” he said.She replied,”R-Really?Promised?”.”Yeah,considered your wish is granted.” he said confidently.”Thanks,Sir Asgard.”she said.”Everyone here called my that,but I hope you can call me Zane” he said.”Eh,really?Then,thanks,Zane.I-I got to go now.Bye!”she replied.”Yeah,sure.See you tomorrow.”he said.”Wishing for someone’s safety whenever they are away,huh?I wonder if that old man is wishing for me right now.I doubt he will..haha”.
~~While he was sleeping,suddenly Zane heard a commotion outside.When he went outside,he saw the villagers running about.He went to find Dogma and was surprised to see the mage’s house is engulfed in flames.The whole Derial family are outside except Lora.Dogma told Zane that the arson is probably caused by one of the Olympian Lords,Aeneas and Lora is probably kidnapped by him or her to lure Zane out.”Lure me,for what and who is this Olympian Lord?”asked Zane.”Maybe I should tell you everything about this world.The Midgard.”
~~“This world,the Midgard is an eternal world,one will not get old here as the time itself won’t flow.9000 years ago,Atlantis wage war to invade Athens but failed.Due to this failure,we made a pact with the Olympian Lords.But the pact was a double edged sword.Atlantis never did sink into the ocean.It is just hidden from the flow of time.You can say that Midgard is actually in another dimension.For thousands of years we were here.We are bored of life.This is an unremovable curse but a prophecy once said only someone from Asgard can breaks this curse with the help of the musical weapons,Ocean’s Melody.There are 10 Olympian Lords,10 Ocean’s Melody and 10 cursed island in Midgard.Each Olympian Lords guards each of the Ocean’s Melody in each cursed island.Which mean to get all of the Ocean’s Melody,one have to defeat all Olympian Lords at each island.This island,Atlantis’ Ocean’s Melody,the Viosa is guarded by Aeneas.It seems the Olympian Lords already knew you are here.I forgot about the Olympian Lords.They possess enourmous strength and a type of weapon called the Arms of the Lords.It is impossible to defeat them.Now,please,get out of this place quick,go back the same way you came here,go,now!”said Dogma.
~~”Huh?Go back?No way!!I’ll fight all of these Lords.I’ll show them who’s boss around here!”replied Zane.”Are you crazy??It will only take a few seconds for Aeneas to crush you into pieces.”said Dogma again.”If so,why didn’t this all-powerful Aeneas kill me just now??I must possess something that he is afraid of.That something is my trump card.Do you think i played video games everyday for nothing??I never ever seen the ‘Game Over’ sign.Why?Because I always wins.”said Zane proudly.”It’s suicide and you know it”said Dogma.”Say what you wants,old man.I’m going there now and I’ll safe Lora.After all,no one ever wished for me before.Hehe.”said Zane.Dogma replied”Looks like nothing can stop you now,huh?Wait,this is my gift to you.”
~~After her read an incantation of some kind,a magical field is seen around Zane and in a flash,his outfit is change into an all-white knight-like outfit.His Beretta 92FS semi-automatic pistol is also changed to a really shiny silver gun-like blade.”This is the Garments of the Knight created only for Asgard.Your weapon was enhanced making it perfect for both melee and distance combat.Please use it to save my daughter.This suit will increase your strength and spirit.It is also able to merge with the weapons the Olympian Lords wield.You are our only hope.Please,save my daughter!!I beg you!!”said Dogma while bowing to Zane.”Heh,thanks.Don’t worry,I shall save your daughter.By the way,you have a very dumb daughter,old man.”said Zaeni.”Huh,what do you mean by that,Sir Asgard?”asked Dogma.”Who would ever wish for someone else’s safety but then forget to wish for her own safety?Stupid,right?You don’t have to worry as I shall protect her and her wish will always protect me. ”
~~After listening to the direction to Mount Ragna,Zane make his move.He must first,make his way to Ghoul’s Forest,an ancient forest covering the whole Mount Ragna except its summit.After a few miles walking,Zane saw the half-way marker.It is dawn already.According to Dogma,the real danger appears after the half-way marker.Ghoul’s Forest is a mysterious forest that ever since 9000 years ago,no one make it out of the forest after the half-way marker.As he was walking,he notices something.It is as if the forest itself is walking with him.Suddenly,he was attacked by some vines.He managed to evade it but things started to get worse.Looks like the forest itself is alive.Every plants and trees can move by itself.Zane quickly run as fast as his can.It is impossible to win againts plants and trees in a forest.The trees keep chasing him using its branches,leaves,vines and roots.It is useless for him to run away as the trees are way to fast.So he begins intercepting their attack.Luckily his pistol is now a sword too.He is able to intercept most of the attack,but the damages he received weakens him.He was wrapped by a vine and rendered immobilize.The vine lift him high and pummel him to the ground. While at the ground,Zane cut the vine and free himself.He run again eventhough the trees and plants keep chasing him.When the vine lift him,he notices a big red flower deep in the forest.Zane make a bet that the flower may be the forest’s heart or some sort of a weakness.
~~He run as fast as his weak body can.He bleeds more and more.He suspect the trees in the forests are poisonous.Finally,he manage to arrive at the place where the big red flower blooms.The place is filled with sweet scents,but as he suspect,it is very poisonous.Using his weapon’s long-range shooting ability,he was able to shot the flower from a distance.After seeing the flowers about to wilt,he quickly jump on it and stab the middle of the flower.Finally,he used a magical spell of fire called ‘Prominence’ taught to him by Dogma before he made his way.The spell quickly burns the flower to ashes.He had no idea the spell to be this powerful.
~~Dogma told him he can learn a lot of other spells,but he have to search for the Magical Grimoires himself which was spread all over Midgard.Each Magical Grimoires will have a condition in order for someone to learn the spell that i t carries.After the flower is gone,Zane heard a loud wail all over the forest.The wail stopped after a few while and he realise it may be the wail of the forest.Inside the flower,Zane find a Magical Grimoires of the Poisonous Spell,’Venom Heart’.According to the grimoire,the condition to master ‘Venom Heart’ is a drop of ‘virginal tear’.Confused by the condition,Zane kept the grimoires and make his way to the Summit of Mount Ragna,which is visible to him now but is covered by clouds.
~~The afternoon’s heat on Atlantis was unbearable for Zane.Not only that,casting ‘Prominence’ earlier made his body heat increased drastically,but he didn’t stop walking.Going to the Summit of Mount Ragna and saving Lora are the only things in his mind.He finally arrived at the lair of one of the Olympian Lord,Aeneas.A temple-like building in white without any roof.The sky is visible there.A really faint and soothing melody is heard all over the place.He wonder if it is the Ocean’s Melody,Viosa.He went deeper into the building.Suddenly he saw a man of white.A very tall man with white wings and a black halo floating on his head.
~~”Are you,Aeneas?”Zane asked.”Gyahaha!!My,my,what a courageous young man.You dare to address me just like that,boy?Lord Aeneas would be better if you plan to keep your life.”replied Aeneas.”So,you’re the one,huh?The one who kidnapped Lora.Give her back!!”he said angrily.”Give her back?Gyahaha!!You really think you are a hero,huh?A gift from God to the people here?Stop dreaming,boy!You’re just a human boy accidentally entered the Celestial Gate.A powerless human thinking of defeating me?Gyahaha!!”he laugh histerically.”You think i didn’t know that?Yes,I am just a powerless boy.I have nothing to do with this place,but in order to go back,I have to defeat all of you,The Olympian Dorks,isn’t it?So I shall defeat all of you!”he said.”Gyahaha,I love boy without manners!!Well then,I,Aeneas shall pulverise you,boy!!”Aeneas replied.”I’ll save Lora no matter what!!Lora and this pitiful world!!”answered Zane.”Lora?Oh,you mean the girl?The reincarnation of Venus?Sorry,but I won’t let her go.Gyaaahaha!!”.”Venus?What is he talking about”Zane thought.
~~Aeneas begins to flap his wings wildly and suddenly he charge towards Zane.Zane avoid it and shoot him.Aeneas fly and avoid the bullets.He fly to the sky and starts chanting.A sword suddenly appear in front of him and he took it.”Sword of the Sky,Tramontane!!This is my Arms,boy!!How powerful are you in presence of the mighty sky itself!!”he said.He starts to swings his sword and create hurricanes.The wind tried to blow Zane away,but he quickly stab his sword to the ground.When the wind stopped,he quickly stand up and aimed at Aeneas,but Aeneas wasn’t above him anymore.Zane was hit by a powerful blow from behind.the blow is so strong that Zane’s blood spurting everywhere.”You see,boy.Since the beginning,you were of no match to me.I am Aeneas,The Trojan hero who has acquired the power of God!!”he claimed.Suddenly Aeneas,who was flying come crashing down to the ground.”Hehe,looks like you aren’t immortal.I still have the chance to win.”said Zane who shot Aeneas wings.He quickly cast ‘Prominence’ on his weapon and shoot towards Aeneas.’Prominence Shot’,he call it.Aeneas wings caught on fire,but he just stand and smile.”Immortal?I am not,but I am close to it.I am able to regenerate.Any damage dealt to me will be instantly recovered.”he said while his wings seem to already fully recovered.He stab Zane right through his heart.”What the..I am going to die here..do-don’t be joking..I’m don’t want to die yet!!”he said.”But,what can you do,now??Gyahaha!!”
~~“Stop!!Stop it!!”a scream is heard.It was Lora.”Lo-lora,you seems okay.Hehe.”said Zane who is covered in his own blood.”Zane!!Please don’t die!!”said a tearful Lora.She quickly run towards Zane.Suddenly,a drop of her tears fall on the Magical Grimoire in Zane’s pocket.It began to resonate with the tear and began glowing.”Sorry,Mistress Venus,but I must kill this boy.”said Aeneas while already in his killing stance.”No,no,please.No!!”she said.”Don’t worry,after all,I’m the one who’s supposed to protect you.”Zane said to Lora.The Magical Grimoire float in front of him and the words on every pages went inside Zane’s right eye.”So,that’s it.the secret of this spell.Hehe,just what i needed.”Zane said.
~~”This is the end!!The gale of victory is always by my side,boy!!Sirocco Storm!!”shout Aeneas while charging towards Zane.”The end?Not quite,old man!!Spell of Poison,Venom Heart!!”.said Zane while casting Venom Heart.”It’s useless!!No damage can harm me!!Recover!!”Aeneas said while recovering the wound Venom Heart inflicts to him.”What the..arrggghh!!What’s this pain!!I-it’s burning inside me!!Arghh!!What have you done!!”asked Aeneas.”Venom Heart.It’s a very effective spell against you.It doesn’t inflict much damage,actually.It just inflict minimal damage within time and any damage cured or recovered will be change into damage as well.It’s poison,you know.Well,on normal person,this spell is very weak.But on a monster that recover everytime,it must feel like hell to you.”Zane explain.”Gyahaha,how lucky of you to be able to activate that grimoire.You won’t be so lucky next time.The other Lords are waiting for you.Beware,young boy!!Gyaaahaha!!”said Aeneas while disappearing.
~~After Aeneas disappear,Lora cured Zane using her magic and took him to the Sky Altar,situated deep in the building.There,Zane release the first Ocean’s Melody seal and obtained Viosa.He also took Tramontane,Aeneas weapon and merge it with his weapon.Suddenly a pair of white wings grow from his back.Looks like Tramontane,The Sword of the Sky’s power gave Zane the power of flight.After that,when he was ready to fly back to the village with Lora,suddenly Lora said,”Zane,thanks for saving me”and give him a kiss on his cheek.”Erk..umm..it’s okay.Just doing my job.And I’m glad that you’re a virgin.”said a blushing Zane.”Huh?What do you mean?”ask a confused Lora.”Umm..ah..nothing..just forget about it.Haha”.”You’re weird.”said Lora while smiling.
“What did Aeneas meant by Venus?”
